In the first game the Southside Lady Mavericks would take on the Har-Ber Lady Wildcats at Wildcat Arena. Har-Ber entered the game with an overall record of 18-4 and 10-0 in 6A West Conference play, and Southside countered with an overall record of 7-16 and 2-10 in 6A West Conference play. The Lady Wildcats would start off the game fast, leading 23-9 led by senior Caylan Koons with 11 points and junior Pacious McDaniel with 6 points. Southside was led by senior Addi Branham with 2 points. In the second quarter the Lady Wildcats would continue to stay hot and go into half leading 43-14 over the Lady Mavericks. In the second half the Lady Wildcats dominated and controlled the game and ultimately won 63-32. Har-Ber was led by junior Pacious McDaniel with 16 points and senior Caylan Koons with 11 points. Sophomore Sophia Neihouse led Southside with 18 points. The Lady Mavericks dropped to 7-17 overall and 2-11 in 6A West Conference play. The Lady Wildcats improved to 19-4 overall and 11-0 in 6A West Conference play. The Lady Mavericks will play at Bentonville West Tuesday whereas the Har-Ber lady Wildcats will play at Rogers on Tuesday. Senior Ella Nelson on their fast start tonight: “I think before the game we focused on what we needed to work on and what we needed to come out and do, and that was especially executing our offense and playing super hard on defense and doing the extra stuff on defense, and I think when we start hard on defense it carries over into the rest of the game” On how the team can carry this momentum into Rogers on Tuesday: “They have always been a competitor, but I think we will just work hard and start hard like we did tonight, I think we will do pretty well.” In the second game of the night, the Har-Ber Wildcats would take on the visiting Southside Mavericks. Southside came into the game with an overall record of 6-17 and 0-11 in 6A West Conference play, and Har-Ber entered the game with an overall record of 16-7 and 6-5 in 6A West Conference play. Har-Ber got off to a fast start and led 18-13 after 1 quarter of play at Wildcat Arena. In the second quarter Har-Ber would continue to stay hot and go into half leading 29-20 over the visiting Mavericks. Har-Ber was led by senior Mack Wright with 11 points. Southside was led by senior Aaron Hall with 11 points. In the second half Har-Ber would build a comfortable 42-30 lead heading to the fourth quarter. Ultimately, the game would come down to the wire and Har-Ber would lose 55-51 to Southside. Senior Khaliq Pulluaim led Southside with 18 points, and Har-ber was led by senior Mack Wright with 14 points. The Southside Mavericks improved to 7-17 overall and 1-11 in 6A West Conference play and will play at Bentonville West on Tuesday. Har-Ber dropped to 16-8 overall and 6-6 in 6A West Conference play and will play at Rogers on Tuesday. Story by Will Johnson
